Final Project and Thesis week 10: 1st to 7th November

“Sivras is a hybrid publication consisting of a magazine that is accompanied by content in augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR)”
“Synced is a conceptual augmented reality social platform that I developed based on my own insight and foresight research. The platform is centred around collaboration – users can add their own creativity to other user’s creations, sell their creations in their own curated digital shop and complete challenges that encourage activism. Ultimately, Synced is a space for futurists who desire decentralised spaces, community and a platform to share their voice and build a brand”
“TOMORROW is an interactive film installation which puts the viewer in an awkward situation. Amongst calm lights and beautiful haze, the film attracts the viewer to come near and admire the panoramic scenery. Our planet could have been this wonderful. But we all crossed the line. And in a jiffy, the film switches from a beautiful dreamy landscape to a dystopian future which is daunting and scary”
“Quick Fix, a short, but oh-so-sweet story of a user’s journey on the way to ultimate self-optimization. Quick Fix HQ, a glossy, contrived and overwhelmingly pink self-care sanctuary, welcomes the user to reach their full glowing potential at the click of a button. Both retro and modern, this hyper-stylised, playful short, illuminates the cross-over of consumerism, social media and feminine beauty ideals. With vibrant colours and an abundance of questionable products, director Annie Harmeston satirically questions the notion of self-care online.”

I absolutely loved this VR experience and I especially really liked the use of voice-activated feedback which was used as a scene transition of sorts as after you speak, things would flow from within you in VR and the experience would change to the next scene. I found the concept really cool and the way that managed to fit in a very convoluted story/narrative in 20 minutes was brilliant. Definitely my favorite out of the VR tech lab/VR lab (LCC collab) as part of the festival.
